Compliance Risk Score Methodology

The Compliance Risk Score provides an automated, deterministic assessment of each classification code’s reliability and integration with broader regulatory and international frameworks.

This score is calculated at build-time using official data from our SQLite database and is based purely on the properties of the code, eliminating manual bias.

Scoring System

The score is rated out of 10 and color-coded for quick visual reference:

Factors Assessed

The score is calculated based on up to 7 factors. Each factor is evaluated as Pass, Fail, or N/A (Not Applicable). The final score is: round((Passed / Total Applicable) * 10).

1. Verified Official Source

Checks whether the code and its title exactly match the official publication (e.g., GASTAT SSIC 2026 or SSCO 2026 data files).

2. International Crosswalk

Checks if the local code maps to an international standard:

3. Previous Edition Migration

Assesses if there is a clear migration path from the previous edition of the classification (e.g., SSIC 2019). New codes introduced in the latest edition are marked N/A.

4. Complete Hierarchy

Validates that the code belongs to a fully intact hierarchy (e.g., Section β†’ Division β†’ Group β†’ Class β†’ Activity for SSIC).

5. Size or Threshold Documented

(SSIC Only) Checks if the activity has documented thresholds (e.g., SME Monshaat definitions). Not applicable for Occupations.

6. Trade or Export Match

(SSIC Only) Checks if the economic activity produces physical goods mapped to HS 2022 customs codes (ZATCA). Service activities and occupations receive an N/A.

7. Legacy Crosswalk

Checks for mappings to older legacy systems (if applicable).
